I'm in my mid-forties, 5'9" tall, 42DDD bust, with broad shoulders, an hourglass figure that has filled in a bit around the middle, and typically wear a size 18/20 (Spanx size 22, or 2X, because I like my clothes fitted, but not too tight). I have a pronounced booty, but am not pear shaped or bottom heavy, so I typically need to ensure I fit my shoulders and bust before my hips. I purchased my regular Spanx size of 2X in this dress in black, though I could have gotten a 1X if I had a flatter stomach or wanted it tighter overall. This is by far the best dress ever! Literally jaw dropping how amazing it looks and feels! 11 out of 10!!! It has slightly squared off shoulders and interesting sleeves that give off a subtle '80's power LBD feel, but in a very modern way. And I absolutely love it! The sleeves are slightly wide, slightly long and oddly tubular in that they do not narrow towards the cuff. I have long, muscular arms and the sleeves are not tight on me. This and the shoulders are (to me) what gives the (modern) 80's feel. But I do feel the online pics pretty accurately represent what the dress looks like in real life, so you shouldn't be unpleasantly surprised in person. I love how it's so classic, subtle and effortlessly simple that you can wear it over and over to a wide range of events. You can also style it in so many different ways depending on your shoes, stockings and excessories. But it's also fashion forward and the low back really packs a punch in terms of the WOW factor! You will not be able to wear a regular bra due to the low back, though it does have bra strap clips in the shoulders if you have a low back bra or bodysuit. But it's thick enough to go bra less too. And the low back is very well designed in that it tapers and does not show back rolls! Extremely flattering! It is more fitted on the bottom and slightly roomy on the top due to the open back. It wil easily accommodate a large bust, but you may want to size down if you are small on top or have narrow shoulders. I loved it so much I went back and purchased the red!
